Updated Finishes

Spent the week running around South Bend, Mishawaka, Elkhart, and Bremen but it was time well spent. We ordered the fireplace insert, the interior doors and trims, and have made flooring, and back splashes. Still mulling over a few choices but we're getting close. The color isn't great in the pictures. Not pleased with the color in the pictures. They look much better up close.

 

 

Kitchen Finishes

I've been picking out finishes for the kitchen. This is the quartz for our counters, the back splash, and the island lighting. I have an appointment Thursday (1/24) to pick out the flooring. I think we're going with cork.

Cabinet Layout

We have an Amish cabinet maker building the cabinets in the house. The quality of his work that I viewed was excellent and believe it or not, the cabinets are about 75% of what Kraftmaid cost.

Plumbing and Electrical

Haven't posted since before Thanksgiving because not much got done until after the first of the year. The electrical is roughed in and live to the house as of last Friday. The plumbing rough in should be finished midweek. Then inspections, followed by siding and trim outside and insulation and drywall inside.
